FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The purpose of the grant is to support new small projects within the Town of The Pas that bring people together and respond to priorities of TPCRC. Funds are provided to local groups that require modest short-term project funding. The goal is to be a start up support for pilot programs/events that will continue and grow in the future.
Non-profit organizations, community-based organizations (incorporated and unincorporated), and community groups that are located within The Pas & Area.
Priority will be given to new applicants, but you are very welcome to apply again if you have in the past.
An organization/group may apply for multiple project grants, but priority will be given to new applicants first.
Once TPCRC has announced the Community Small Grants Program pre-application is open for the fiscal year, you can apply.
Please apply a minimum of a month before you begin planning your event/project so we can assure your application is processed in time.
All dollars must be spent before February 20 of that fiscal year. All remaining dollars must be returned to TPCRC.
All unspent funds must be returned to TPCRC maximum 5 business days after your final report has been submitted (10 days after project completion) or before February 20 of that fiscal year (whichever comes first).
A final report including all receipts/invoices must be submitted to TPCRC maximum 5 business days after your project completion or before February 20 of that fiscal year (whichever comes first). Photos of your project are welcome and encouraged.
Extensions are only possible at the discretion of and with prior approval of TPCRC. Please request via email to tpcrc.staff@gmail.com or your project will be considered complete and all unspent funds must be returned.
You can apply for up to $5,000 per project with a clear, concise budget as part of your application. Quotes will greatly strengthen your application and may be requested.

Although your organization must be from The Pas & Area to apply, your project must occur within the boundary of the Town of The Pas.
Our project is a long-standing annual event in the community. Can we seek funding to continue it?
No. Our funding is intended to create new programs and projects in our community. It is possible to seek funding for a new, smaller project within your event. Please contact us to pitch us your idea before applying or complete a pre-approval application. We are very happy to help make your application a success.
Our event us already underway, but we require additional funding. Can we apply to help supplement our budget?
No. Our funding is intended to create new programs and projects in our community. Please do not advertise your event before funding is applied for and approved by TPCRC Community Small Grants or your event will be considered underway and not applicable for funding.
We have already purchased some items or paid out honoraria, can we apply for a Small Grant to recover these funds?
No. All dollars must be spent after you have received your letter of approval for your application and received payment from TPCRC. All receipts and invoices will be turned over to us with your final project report after your project is completed.
